One, Two, Three

I've been wanting to try my hand at multiple exposures for a while. Well, today was the day. One of the recent weekly prompts for the Clickin Moms 2017 Project 52 was to learn about a feature on your camera that you hadn't used. In other words, read the manual! Which I did.

Here's one of the very first images I shot:
Upstairs I go!
This one is all about the movement when I was going upstairs. It was done using the self-timer on the camera. I kind of like it (but next time, even if I'm just experimenting I'll take a 2nd look at what I'm wearing!).

Another movement shot:
Getting my cup 'o joe
And yes, that's still plastic and blue painter's tape in the kitchen. But that's another story.

Then I took a break and did some more research on Clickin Moms and looked at more examples. I think, for the first time I tried this, I had some success. Of course, it took a lot of experimenting and many, many deleted shots.

Let me know what you think!

Save the Date Sneak Peek!!

I had my first non-family photo shoot last weekend. It was a lot of fun to spend time with these two. Recently engaged, they asked me to take photos for their Save the Date announcement! l was honored to be asked and, even though shooting for others isn't something I usually do, I think things went well. Here are some "Sneak Peek" looks... And. notice that none of these give away the date!!!

Fab Friday... September Edition

OK, OK, OK... I haven't posted a thing here in forever. But I"m here now and want to share some fun times recently.

For our FAB FRIDAY adventure in September (my month to choose) we headed north to Marina Del Rey to explore an area neither one of us had been to. Instead of focusing on the (many) restaurants or Fisherman's Village, we headed to the north side of the channel; to the North Jetty Promanade.

It proved to be a nice easy waterfront walk with the channel on one side and homes (including one with canons & a pirate standing watch!), giving way to the the beach, on the other.

We strolled down the promenade, watching the boats coming home & going out. We saw planes taking off from LAX, other people out for a walk, a lovely beach garden, the start of the Venice boardwalk, and the start (end?) of the Venice Grand Canal. We saved all of the canals for another adventure.

Of course, we had to visit one of the above mentioned restaurants for lunch. Our choice was The Cheesecake Factory - because I was craving their avacado egg rolls! We had a wonderful view of Mother's Beach, where the stand-up paddle boards launch. Then, some egg rolls, salad, fish & chips, and adult beverages brought out Fab Friday adventure to an end!

Running with the big dogs... and the littles!

I got to hang out with my friend who runs a kennel/doggie daycare earlier this week. We had lunch (and pie!!) and Knarley played with all the dogs. I had a wonderful time with her, and had a blast taking photos of the dogs. Tested my skills for sure. I'm not ashamed to admit I went back to the dreaded green auto for just a bit... then figured out settings to make the most of the day. Using manual mode with moving dogs was too much of a challenge (duh!!) but I got it in the end. Here are some of my favorites!
